So long, lonelygirl15

I first want to thank Rachel for bringing lonelygirl15 to my attention. I will continue to watch lonelygirl15's movies even though the truth was revealed. I read it in the NY Times while I was researching for Acting 1. So sad... I am not savvy with computers so honestly I never would have noticed her stuff was "too well-filmed", etc. I  really wish no one had thought about  whether it was real or not.  There isn't enough magic left in the world as it is. Some people like their fairy tales to still end with Cinderella getting her prince (instead of becoming a hardened feminist). I'm one of those people. So, even though it sounds like good-bye but it's not. The END is not written on the page.

On a side note-- I feel the need to vent against Brad Pitt. He's gone a different kind of crazy than Tom Cruise but it's still crazy, no matter what you call it. He was quoted as saying he and Angelina-of-the-massive-mouth will not marry until "Everyone" can. Like the government is going to change its mind because of you, Brad?! Get real. We're glad that you're in to philanthropy and all but honestly. This is pushing the envelope. You and Angelina should just go buy your own island and start a colony. You and Tom Cruise. And Paris Hilton. And all the other crazy people out there. Celebrities making government decisions-- telling the gov't how to do its stuff? Um, yeah, you're celebrities. You are rich, you party and you sometimes act.

Okay-- I know that I sound incredibly bitter. But I have been surrounded by theatre majors for the past three weeks and by darn I can't take much more celebrity nonsense. I promise I'll try to restrain myself next time...

I'm so glad you got sucked in too!! Seriously! Everyone involved in that show is massively talented & put together something wonderful..but I wish I had no idea they were behind it. I followed the story pretty closely for a while, & even though my guess was that it was fake, I kept hoping it wasn't. And now that the mystery's gone, some of the magic is too. I'm not as interested in the episodes (altho I do still enjoy them) because I don't really believe in them anymore.

TOTALLY agree with the celebrity thing! Our culture - me included sometimes! - have put actors & musicians & athletes on pedestals (sp?) where no person should or can be for long. How do most people in theater feel about celebrities? Like, is there more celebrity worship or less?
